Fully agree with Gasman here, about being totally against the idea of unvented gas fireplaces.
There are too many combustion bi-products that could still pose serious health concerns eventhough many new flueless appliances are fitted with catalytic convertors.
As catalytic convertors only partically deal with the problems of carbon monoxide emissions, that still leaves the issue of all other toxicants un-addressed.
Many of us accept, that Gas is still a safer fuel, (than coal, oil, wood etc.) but precautions such as proper ventilation and maintenance of the appliance must strictly be observed.
